Accounts Receivable Manager
Location: Liverpool
Salary: £60,000 - £70,000 + Bonus

Adaptable Recruitment is proud to be working on behalf of a dynamic, fast-growing business to recruit an experienced Accounts Receivable Manager who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has proven experience setting up O2C functions within a Shared Service Centre. This is a hands-on role where leadership, process development, and system implementation will be key. You will be responsible for building the team, overseeing end-to-end O2C operations, and ensuring strong cash flow and debtor management across multiple business entities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up and lead the Accounts Receivable function within the newly established SSC.
  • Design and implement the end-to-end O2C process, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
  • Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing AR team, fostering a culture of excellence while managing underperformance effectively.
  • Oversee multiple forms of invoicing and sales ledger management, including applications for payment, self-billing, and traditional invoicing.
  • Establish strong relationships with key stakeholders, ensuring a seamless transition of AR functions from group companies into the SSC.
  • Develop and maintain KPI reporting and dashboards, providing insightful reporting to Group Finance.
  • Drive process improvement initiatives to optimise cash flow, minimise aged debt, and enhance overall financial efficiency.
  • Ensure the successful implementation of new AR systems and automation tools.
  • Manage change effectively, balancing diplomacy with the need for performance and results.
  • Travel occasionally within the UK during the SSC set-up phase and for ongoing operational alignment.

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience in setting up and leading an O2C function within a Shared Service Centre is essential.
  • End-to-end expertise in O2C, including invoicing, cash collection, dispute resolution, and process optimisation.
  • Experience managing multiple sales ledger types, including applications for payment, self-billing, and complex invoicing structures.
  • Ability to develop and deliver KPI reporting and dashboards for senior leadership.
  • Resilient, dynamic, and results-driven, with a strong work ethic and determination to succeed. Requires someone with strength of character who thrives on challenges.
  • A hands on individual as this role requires both strategic vision and operational involvement.
  • Exceptional people management skills - ability to foster high performers while effectively managing underperformance.
  • Strong stakeholder management and diplomacy skills, as AR functions transition from group companies to the SSC.
  • Willingness to travel within the UK as needed, particularly during the SSC setup phase.
