Adaptable are delighted to be exclusively working with a Liverpool based business who is looking to recruit a detail orientated and experienced Purchase Ledger Clerk to join their growing finance team.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
Process a high volume of supplier invoices daily in Xero, ensuring accurate coding and appropriate authorisation.
Match purchase orders, delivery notes, and invoices for three-way matching where applicable.
Perform regular supplier statement reconciliations and resolve any discrepancies promptly.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all accounts payable transactions.
Ensure timely preparation and processing of weekly/monthly payment runs via BACS.
Liaise with suppliers to resolve queries and maintain strong working relationships.
Assist with month-end procedures, including ledger close-off and reporting.
Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and audit requirements.
Continuously review and improve the purchase ledger process for efficiency.
Support the wider finance team with ad hoc duties as required.
Skills and experience
Proven experience in a similar Purchase Ledger / Accounts Payable role.
Demonstrable experience handling high-volume transactions.
Proficient in using Xero accounting software.
Strong numerical and data entry skills with excellent attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal.
Strong reconciliation and problem-solving skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications.
