At Adaptable Recruitment we have an Excellent Opportunity for a Junior Buyer to join a progressive & forward thinking Solar and Electrical distributor in the Widnes area.
Salary: up to £30,000 depending on experience
Location: Widnes - fully office based
Hours: Full-time | Monday-Thursday: 9am-5pm, Friday: 9am-4pm

Main Responsibilities Include:
Purchasing & Supplier Coordination
- Raise and manage purchase orders.
- Assist in maintaining supplier relationships to ensure quality, competitiveness, and reliability.
- Support supplier performance reviews, including analysis of lead times, service levels, and product quality.
Stock & Inventory Control
- Monitor inventory and initiate reorders based on sales trends and stock thresholds.
- Liaise with warehouse and logistics teams to coordinate incoming deliveries.
Cost & Contract Administration
- Review and verify supplier quotations before purchase order approval.
- Help maintain accurate procurement records and ensure compliance with internal procedures.
- Provide regular updates on product availability, delivery times, and potential supply issues.
Data Management & Reporting
- Keep procurement systems and CRM databases updated with accurate, real-time information.
- Contribute to reports on stock movement, order tracking, and supplier performance.
- Share relevant procurement information with internal departments such as sales, finance, and operations.
Sustainability & Compliance
- Support the company's sustainability goals by considering environmental and ethical factors in purchasing decisions.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Well-organised with strong administrative capabilities.
- Confident communicator, able to interact effectively with both suppliers and internal teams.
- Analytical thinker with solid problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).
- Familiarity with CRM/ERP systems is beneficial but not essential (training provided).
Qualifications & Experience
- Ideally 1-2 years of experience in procurement or supply chain (not essential).
- Basic understanding of purchasing and inventory management processes.
