Accounts Payable Clerk

Adaptable Recruitment are delighted to be working with a growing and dynamic business based in Knowsley who are looking to recruit an experienced Accounts Payable Clerk to join their busy finance team.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in maintaining accurate financial records and building strong supplier relationships.

Key Responsibilities

• Process a large volume of supplier invoices efficiently through automated systems, ensuring all information is correct and matches supporting documentation.
• Reconcile supplier accounts on a monthly basis, resolving any discrepancies and requesting missing paperwork when required.
• Prepare and process supplier payments in line with agreed credit terms, ensuring timely and accurate transactions.
• Communicate confidently with suppliers regarding payment schedules, queries, and disputes to maintain effective partnerships.
• Produce payment remittances and assist with routine reporting, including creditor and supplier analyses.
• Reconcile bank transactions and maintain accurate records of financial activity.
• Monitor project-related expenditure and ensure costs are allocated appropriately.
• Support the Finance Manager with ad hoc reporting and month-end tasks.
• Provide general administrative and finance support to the wider office team as needed.

About You

• Previous experience within an accounts payable or finance role is essential.
• Experience within the construction sector and knowledge of CIS would be advantageous.
• Confident user of Sage 50 and strong Microsoft Excel skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
• A flexible, proactive approach with a willingness to support across different areas of finance.
