Transport Planner

Role: Transport Planner (Flat Bed planning experience is desirable).
Location Runcorn
Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 (negotiable depending on experience) plus bonus scheme
Monday - Friday 8:30am - 5:30pm (can be flexible)

Adaptable recruitment are working with a well-established and growing logistics business to recruit an experienced Transport Planner to join their busy operations team. This is a fast-paced role where you'll play a key part in keeping deliveries running efficiently, ensuring vehicles, drivers and routes are aligned to meet customer demands and operational targets.

What you will be doing:

• Planning and routing vehicles efficiently across the UK
• Managing driver schedules in line with driver's hours and WTD regulations
• Briefing and debriefing drivers daily
• Monitoring delivery performance and ensuring KPIs are met
• Reacting to last-minute changes and re-routing where needed
• Maintaining strong communication with drivers, site teams, and internal departments
• Ensuring all paperwork and compliance requirements are met
• Supporting with driver queries and day-to-day operational issues
• Working closely with the wider planning team to deliver excellent service

What we're looking for:

• Previous experience in a Transport Planner role within a busy environment
• Flat bed planning experience is highly desireable
• Strong knowledge of transport systems and tachograph regulations
• Confident managing drivers and workloads
• Highly organised with a methodical approach
• Able to prioritise and work to deadlines under pressure
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Proactive, driven, a positive attitude and detail-focused
